Clayton + Jessalyn | a DIY day wedding

There is something so special about photographing the weddings of people you know. (I talk a little more about how I know Clay + Jess in their engagement session post!) Clay + Jessalyn were married on the last Saturday of May and the weather was absolutely GORGEOUS! Jessalyn, her mother, and her mother’s friends were some of the most organized group of “wedding planners” I’ve ever seen! They put so much effort into the sweet details of their wedding and reception, the whole day friends were commenting on how “Clay + Jessalyn” it was – that’s the kind of feedback you want! Clay + Jessalyn are both Spanish-speakers and attend a Hispanic church – there was delicious Mexican food to eat at the reception and there was even a PINATA! I love how they incorporated that part of their lives into their wedding.

I was so thankful that after their exit around 7pm, Clay + Jessalyn agreed to take an hour with me for their portraits. The sun was setting, they were relaxed, and the combination of those things created the opportunity to photograph some of my absolutely favorite bride + groom portraits to date! Enjoy!
